ENRICH in LAC participated to the EU-LAC Knowledge Forum, organized by the EU-LAC Foundation, the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (AUCI) and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) Uruguay, with the support of UNESCO and the European Union in Uruguay on April 24 and 25 at the AECID Training Center in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The event promoted the exchange and joint work between the societies of both regions, counting on the participation of diverse representatives of civil society networks and organizations, academic experts and international organizations from Latin American, the Caribbean and Europe, offering excellent networking opportunities across both regions.
After two days of intensive and fruitful discussion, the participants generated valuable inputs for the adoption of common lines of programmes and public policies in the field of access to knowledge, higher education, and science, technology and innovation, feeding into the bi-regional EU-LAC Summit taking place on 17 & 18 July in Spain.
To let no grass grow under their feet, Marco Quirino and Anneken Reise from ENRICH in LAC also took the opportunity to visit the Innovation and entrepreneurship center at University ORT, the ITHAKA Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU) and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Montevideo (UM), as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Services of Uruguay (CNCSUY) and the National Agency for Development (ANDE), exploring further cooperation possibilities.
