The National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) launched on 15 November a call ”Puerta Horizonte Europa-Mexico”, which aims to encourage the participation of Mexican entities in the Horizon Europe Programme and strengthen bilateral relations between the EU and Mexico in Science, Technology and Innovation. This new mechanism proposes two modalities: Institutions with their own resources may apply under Modality 1 and can apply in all areas of Horizon Europe calls. Under modality 2 Conacyt will fund a maximum of 8 projects in the areas of health, energy and human security.
Mexican entities interested in participating in a European consortium may apply to Conacyt for financial support. After an internal selection process Conacyt will guarantee financing for the Mexican partner of up to 125,000 Euro if the proposal is subsequently selected for funding by the EU.
